Edina Public Schools (EPS) proudly announces the hiring of Jennifer “Jenn” Carter as the newest assistant principal at Edina High School (EHS). Carter, who currently serves as dean of students at EHS, will become the schools’ fourth assistant principal along with Jenny Johnson, Michael Pretasky and Troy Stein. Carter was selected from a strong field of candidates in a process that included input from students, staff, parents and community members.
Eleven members of the Edina High School (EHS) Unified Soccer Team signed contracts May 24 to play as the first official Minnesota United Unified Team, a program operating through Special Olympics. EHS has numerous unified activities that bring together students with special needs and general education students for athletics, fine arts and social activities. This is the fourth year EHS has had a unified soccer team, which was selected to represent Minnesota by Special Olympics following a tournament in April.
This year, the last day of school looms large for more than the usual reasons. The day after June 1 is The Big Move. Teachers and staff at Edina High School, South View Middle School, Countryside, Cornelia, Concord and Normandale elementary schools, and the Early Childhood Center will pack up their learning spaces and step aside as construction teams move in. It will begin the most intense period of Next Gen Facilities construction in the district and will be the culmination of an equally intense period of planning.
